Shmulik "Sam" Bassin started playing piano at 4 years old. A self taught musician who also plays Guitar, Bass and Drums. At 16 he joined a wedding band "Avi Sarusi and the Midnight Singers Band" which made him enough money to travel to Europe with his mother. "One of the best trips of my life." Later on Sam moved to NYC after playing Pro Basketball for 2 years only to join the House Band at the famous "Cafe Wha?” Eventually Sam made his way to Chicago and joined "The Better Daze Band" a great classic rock act. It was during this time Sam started writing music for "DATELINE NBC" from his Home Studio where he saw his name on National TV. Sam joined the Steel Chops on January of 2010 after meeting JD at a New Year’s Eve Party and has been writing great tunes with the Chops since.
