By day, Paul is a white collar professional and productive member of society. At night, he morphs into P Noodles, the creator and keeper of the low end for The Steel Chops. P Noodles creates exciting yet tasteful bass lines which produce momentum in a song and force interplay among the other instruments. He loves authentic rock, funk, blues, jazz, R&B, and soul music and his playing takes elements from each. He is influenced by bass icons of all genres whose bass lines are integral components of the finished product rather than mere rumbling hidden in the mix. P Noodles has studied with some of Chicagoland's best bass teachers including Tom Mendel and Bill Harrison. In addition to playing in other rock bands, he has played in the Old Town School of Music's Jazz, Blues, and Soul ensembles.
P Noodles has a strong aversion to anything cheesy, including bad cover tunes. Despite JD's best efforts, he will not merely stand at the back of the stage staring at Lockett's kick drum pedal.  P Noodles seems to believe that bass players can be rock stars too.
