When Lockett was three years old he received his first drum set...Toys-R-Us brand.  From 6-8 years old, he took piano lessons then switched to what would become his true love the drums. Taking lessons both privately and at school Lockett started his first band in the 6th grade.  From that point on Marc played in Aberration, Hit'n'Run, Sweet Insanity, Caos, and Insight.
After all that Lockett joined the community Jazz band and took two years of music theory to further his knowledge.  This was a big change in musical direction for Lockett.  Being infuenced by Neil Peart, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Dave Lombardo and Vinnie Paul, Jazz was a far cry from rock and metal.  The Jazz would pay off when Marc met JD and they performed "Fly Me to the Moon" for a few fans.  Lockett would eventually play in one more band known as Random X before joining the Steel Chops.  "We played covers in the city and the suburbs making good money for a few years.  I then received the call I was waiting for and joined The Steel Chops full time."  Lockett has added sweet beats to the Steel Chops sound.
